As active working filmmakers we love cameras, lens and filmmaking technology, and spend a lot of time finding the combinations that work for us and the way we make films.
In our reviews we try to give fellow filmmakers our honest experiences using a specific piece of technology, the pros, the cons and the value for money. Our reviews will range from new cameras and lenses, to classic pieces like vintage lenses, filters or even custom made kit.

With the every increasing number of large format / VistaVision / full frame cameras on the market, (Alexa Mini LF, FX9, FX6, FX3, S1H) the demand for quality, lenses with large coverage is higher than ever. The newest lens to hit the market is the new Meike 50mm T2.1 cinema lens.

The first lens in Meike’s new range of lenses designed specifically for FF / 135, the 50mm is available on a multitude of popular mounts including: EF, RF, E, X, L, Z and Arri PL.

Following TstopGear’s reviews of the Meike micro primes for mirrorless mounts, we take a detailed look at the Meike 50mm T2.1 cine lens, filming on the Sony A7Rii (FF and S35 modes) and the BMPCC4K.

Only minor colour correction to adjust for exposure. No creative grade or "film look" has been applied.
